Pike on the fly in Canada

Simon,

For those who may be interested in a shot at trophy pike in northern Canada, I've arranged with Treeline Lodge on Nueltin Lake in far-north Manitoba for a "fly-fishing week." This is scheduled to depart Winnipeg on Aug. 28, and 20 pound fish at that time (mostly sight fishing in very shallow water) are a daily occurrence, and a 30 pounder is a definite possibility.

The trip includes everything (all meals guides, boats, taxes, flight to lodge from Winnipeg, etc.) from Winnipeg, including an open bar every evening. Our only other expense would be round trip air fare to Winnipeg (YWG), and 1 night hotel on August 27...usually about $100 per room, shared by 2, if you bring a buddy. The cost is $4,795, + any incidentals you my buy at the lodge. Lodge manager Shawn will supply a free copy of my book with a deposit, and I'll be going over techniques for taking big fish, and tying flies that work during the week at the lodge.

It's not cheap, but besides the a real chance to take 30 pound pike, big Laker Trout are in the shallows and eager to eat flies, plus the bonus fun of Grayling on light rods. Interested anglers can look at their site at; www.nueltin.com, and click on Treeline Lodge. Contact me for any questions at: pikeflyguy@aol.com. If we get enough interest I may be able to talk Shawn into running a contest for the week, with good prizes.
