Very interesting! thanks.
Seems like you kept a very detailed log, Simon.
I'm now planning a countrywide long term study on pike catches for 2012 (with 20 years data on record fish caught in Finland).
If you have data of your own, also for other years, it could be good material for another scientific work. If it sounds interesting please feel free to contact me about it: paperfishbiologyXXX@gmail.com (remove antispam XXX)
Impressive stats Simon.Very Interesting to read.
I once again started to make my own stats too but after a couple of sessions the lacy part of me won.

BTW:HAPPY BIRTHDAY :)
I love your annual stat post...this year I was wondering if I missed it.
an amazing score Simon, congratulation
Hey Simon,
Still in RSA catching salty critters, are you?
I read your stats. They're impressive. You gather a lot of data throughout the year.
Would you be interested in a tool that doesn't only for instance show the number of fish you caught before and after noon and the number you caught with a floating or intermediate line, but also the number you caught before noon with a floating line, when there was no wind east of the island (or any other combination of variabels)? That way it may be possible to better analyze your raw data.
I have some ideas. Let's be in touch.
Erik
Great stats as usual Simon!
Impressive statistics! Most impressive is that you are not squeamish about consuming those three that I'm guessing were mortally hooked.
Thanks everyone.
Erik,
Yeh would be very interested.I have 6 yrs worth of stats at the mo that could be used. email me or get me on facebook and well chat
John
The pike here on the Baltic taste a hell of a lot better that freshwater pike due to the saline water so I do take the odd one home, but generally one that I know wouldn't survive the release. Most of these are during the warmer summer months here.
Awesome stats and recap!!! Even though I am way on the other side of the pond, these are still valuable. I love your replot flies BTW! I would love to get the recipe for them.
Cheers Nick, heres a youtube video I did for the replot stinger.

Fantastic! Thanks a bunch, Simon!!
Impressive. Don't forget that you caught one carp too ;)
I think I caught around 10 pikes 100% on roach and 100% below 15kg ;)
do you mind sharing what you used to keep your log? software of some sort?
I have a small black book that I write all my daily stats down in but hopefullI will be using a new system this yr from a couple of chaps that have a program available.I'll see whether they are willing to share...get back to you ex-ex angler by mail.....if you have one?
