Fly Candy - Musky madness

This beast is 14" long and is a combination of Black saddle patches, black microbarb saddles,Hot Orange grizzly microbarbs and black bucktail with a tightly packed black/red deerhair bobble head.

It doesn't look like it but this fly is another tandem double rig.The main body has been tied on a Partridge Ultimate predator 4/0 hook while the tail I used a Tiemco 811s 3/0 saltwater hook.

Beautiful fly, wouldn't want to make it fly on a windy day.

Hi Simon,
I hope you’re feeling a bit better.
While I was looking at your musky flies (which look great by the way), I started wondering why there is always such a difference (in size, and the amount of water they move while retrieving) compared to pike flies. Is it really because musky and pike are so different, or is it just a matter of local differences between Europe and America (and the short history we both have in tying flies for both species)?
Do you think it’s worth a try to start tying musky patterns for northern pike, or do they really have a different way of feeding?
